Bartender of the Month
Luis Carrion is our Bartender of the Month for June 2010. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Luis has lived in the Madison area for over 12 years. He has worked at Jolly Bob’s for 6+ years and is currently the Bar Manager.
Jolly Bob’s, open for 18 years, is proudly owned and operated by Tim Erikson. The restaurant features Mr. Erikson’s private photo collection from many years of photography and can be enjoyed by patrons.
The restaurant represents everything there is about the tropical essence in the world today, featuring cuisines from Jamaica, Dominican Republic , Puerto Rico and Brazil just to name a few.
The bar menu features over 60 rums and 60 tequilas featuring all of the signature tropical themed drinks you have come to enjoy over the years. Luis‘s favorite Gosling’s Rum creation is the Brazilian Daiquiri served in a shot glass. It combines 1 part Gosling’s Black Seal Rum, 1 part Gosling’s Gold Bermuda Rum, 1 part silver rum and infused for a week with numerous tropical fruits.
Jolly Bob’s traditional Mai Tai is mixed with 9 different ingredients including Gosling’s Black Seal Rum 80 Proof and topped off with Gosling’s Black Seal Rum 151 Proof.
Of course the Dark ‘n Stormy is poured repeatedly each day and the cocktail has just received a Top 10 award from Madison Magazine as one of the Top 10 drinks served in Madison.
Luis is always around the bar and looking for someone to join him on his “Rum Tour” so stop by and try all of their extensive expressions of rums and tequila’s while enjoying a wonderful entrée from the impressive dinner menu served daily.
