GOSLING’S COCKTAIL AGING CHALLENGE HAS STARTED!

Bartenders from the evolving and exciting bar scene in Germany have a new contest to master. Gosling's Cocktail Aging Challenge is the first competition for bartenders to showcase their experiences and creativity in a genius combination of traditional bartender knowledge, cocktail refining, balancing of flavours, intuition and last, but not least, creative courage.

Silke Schrewe, key account manager of Gosling’s Rum for wineshopper GmbH and Volker Seibert, bar chef at the Capri Lounge in Cologne and pioneer in cocktail aging, formed the idea for this special event.

11 participants were recently selected by the Cocktail Aging Challenge jury to mature their cocktail creations in authentic, used casks to impart both colour and flavour into the libations.

Each participant filled their cask with their unique cocktail during the pre-Cocktail Aging Challenge event held on 5 August at the historic wine cellar of wineshopper GmbH in Obernburg for the ultimate aging until the final.

We are very excited to sample the finalist’s creations on 8 October in Berlin and learn who will be the winner of the Gosling's Cocktail Aging Challenge 2013.
