THE DEEP NIGHTCLUB RE-OPENS ITS DOORS
10 Feb 2006
The Deep nightclub was re-opened last evening to an invite-only crowd of 'Who's Who' in Bermuda.
Located at the Lido Complex, Elbow Beach, the hot-spot closed just one year after opening to rave reviews due to Hurricane Fabian's arrival in September 2003. Although the Deep did not suffer direct damage from the storm, the category three hurricane forced the closure after destroying attached sister businesses Lido Restaurant, Sea Breeze Cafe and Mickey's Beach Bar and Bistro. In the ensuing months water saturated the club's wall and caused erosion of the electrical system as well as damage to the furniture and other fixtures.
Owners MEF took the opportunity to tweak elements within the nightclub during the refurbishment and have changed the layout of the club completely. The louge area, dance floor and upper floor are now more relaxed and casual offering a venue for clients to visit during the week that will not keep them out until the small hours of the morning.
MEF pulled out all the stops for the evenings re-opening. Guests were served The Temptation, one of Gosling's signature cocktails featuring Gosling's Gold Bermuda Rum. This particular cocktail has been featured at several premier events in Bermuda including the White Ice & Fire fundraiser and the Red Cross Gala Dinner & Auction.
