PRINCE WILLIAM yelled “Let’s drink the menu” then did just that on his first night out since splitting with Kate Middleton. Prince William and pals drank almost £5,000 of champagne and cocktails in four hours at trendy London club Mahiki. Prince William, 24, arrived at the Polynesian-themed club at 11:30pm on Friday night (13th April) and was shown to a private table, where he met up with an eight-strong group including close friend Guy Pelly. Then he announced to his table: “Get me the drinks menu. Let’s drink our way through this.” Going through the cocktail menu is known as doing the Mahiki Trail and is based on a map. If guests can finish 18 of the concoctions, costing from £9 to £50, they get the club’s infamous Treasure Chest – a £100 cocktail for eight – for free. The wacky names of the 18 drinks include Dark ‘n Stormy, which is Gosling’s Black Seal Rum and ginger beer, and the £40 Krakatoa, which features a flaming cascade of sparklers. He and his friends were ticking off which ones they had drunk, and were egging on staff to keep bringing them the rest of the cocktail menu.” Prince William finally left Mahiki at around 3:30am the following day, flanked by bodyguards. Stars including Madonna, Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton and P Diddy have all partied at Mahiki. It is famous for its swish décor, featuring orange banquette seating, huge curved bar and tropical plants.
